VOLUNTEERING

Volunteers are the lifeblood of any Community Club, and Colchester RFC is no exception.  We always need new people to join the band of volunteers who keep this club running.  Whatever role you take up you will get training and support from the Club.  You will find the experience rewarding, and the club tries to recognise the achievements of its volunteers.

2005 is the Year of the Volunteer.  Make it the year you get involved in volunteering at Colchester Rugby Club.

COACHING
We run 20 adult, youth and mini teams at Colchester, all of whom need coaches to develop them as players.  We can arrange for you to be mentored by our Director of Coaching and go on an RFU coaching course, and you can join one of the coaching teams.  You can even earn money from coaching by joining our team of schools coaches that visit local primary and secondary schools.
Call Director of Coaching Tim Grimsey on 07811 388291 to find out more.

REFEREEING
Without referees we would not be able to play games.  This applies at every level from minis to veterans rugby.  There is a shortage of referees and we desperately need more people to take up the whistle on Saturdays and Sundays.  We will arrange for you to go on a refereeing course, and we will give you in-house support.  Call Referee Liaison Officer Ross Cowie on 07786 332930.

VOLUNTEER HELPER
There are a lot of people behind the scenes who do countless jobs without which this club could not function.  All roles demand some time commitment, some more than others, but if you can spare as little as an hour per week to help the club let us know.  Contact Andrew Sarek on 07958 138083 if you can help, particularly with the roles listed below.

We urgently need people in the following areas:
