INSURANCE

All players at Colchester Rugby are insured through the RFU Clubs Compulsory Insurance Scheme.  This covers adult, youth, mini and women players, Match Officials, Managers, Coaches and Medical Attendants.

The scheme provides cover for accidental death and permanent disability while playing or training or taking part in any match, official training session or practice session, or while engaged in their official duties for the Club.  

Benefits are payable for:

• Death resulting from Accidental Bodily Injury
• Permanent loss of limb, sight in one or both eyes
• Hearing in one or both ears
• Speech
• Permanent Total Disablement
• Permanent Inability to carry out any gainful employment

The above policy does NOT provide cover for loss of earnings.

PERSONAL INSURANCE
Individuals can take out personal insurance policies that will cover them for loss of earnings.  For example, £9.95 per month can cover you for up to £500 per month for loss of earnings, plus help with physiotherapy costs and payment of dental treatment.  Another scheme that costs a little over £100 per year will cover a manual labourer for £100 per week loss of earnings, plus hospital benefit, and help towards consultant, physiotherapy and dental fees.

Terms and conditions apply, and you can pay more or less depending on what kind of cover you want.  You can get quotes from either of the two companies below, but there are others who may be able to offer similar cover.  Cover for Junior players is also available.
