Colchester U16s kicked off the first of four matches that the Rugby Club and the Grammar School will play this season, and if the others are half as entertaining as this game, then there will be plenty of good rugby in store.

In a game where the teams were well matched, the School led with two minutes to go thanks to tries by Will Leeks and Max Stetchman, and a  conversion and penalty by Jason Crozier, when the Club got a last gasp try through Jason Hatcher, to add to an earlier try from Joe Neal and a Dail Tanner Penalty.  Tanner slotted over the conversion to level the scores and no-one could complain at the 15-15 scoreline.
