McDonald's has sponsored the Colchester Mini Rugby Festival since 1994. This support from Cas Morehen, owner of the three McDonald's Restaurants in Colchester, has allowed the club's mini section to provide some of the best facilities available anywhere for its youngest players. The Festival has grown into the biggest in the Eastern Counties, and additional sponsorship for the Primary schools tournaments has allowed the game to be spread far beyond the club's own boundaries. |

ACRA Leisurewear Ltd sponsors the
Colchester U15 and U14 Festivals, but has
also supported the club's commitment to spread the game
of rugby to local schools by sponsoring balls, equipment
and coaching courses for local primary schools and
teachers. ACRA's sponsorship was supplemented with funding from SportsMatch. This is a government funded body to encourage new sponsors to invest in grass-roots sport by providing match funding in the first year. This is the latest of a number of successful Sportsmatch applications by Colchester Rugby Club, others having been made in partnership with McDonald's, The Oaks Hospital, and Van-Cols Photographers. |
