Colchester has been awarded Seal of Approval Year 2 status. The Club was the first in the London North Region be be given the RFU's Seal of Approval and Sport England's Clubmark.
Clubmark is a club accreditation programme that sets down criteria aimed at providing safe, effective and child friendly clubs. Integrating with that programme is the RFU’s Seal of Approval for Active Sports rugby clubs. All this is aimed at ensuring appropriate playing programmes, child protection and social inclusion procedures and management of clubs’ youth sections.
To achieve Year 2 status Colchester Rugby Club has had to prepare a Club Development Plan and shown significant progress towards it. central to the Plan is the new club extension that is needed to accommodate its burgeoning membership.
