Before the Colchester vs Tendring Barbarians game, Colchester Rugby Club President Chum Borges was presented with a number of representative shirts gained by club players over the past year. First team fly half Pete Smith presneted his London & South East Division 18 Group shirt, while James Sarek presented his Nigeria U18 shirt which he wore playing in Lagos in the summer.
Assunta de Biase, who is a regular in the England Women's team acknowledged Colchester as her first club before she went to higher things, and an England shirt was presented by Girls coach Heidi Thomson. Ben Acton donated his England Universities shirt worn against Combined Services U21s at Twickenham in April, and the final presentation was a British Lions shirt donated by Mike Lake of Lake Bushells. The shirt was signed by former Lions Willie-John McBride, Phil Bennett, Bill Beaumont and Martin Johnson, and it along with the other shirts will be framed then displayed in Colchester's clubhouse.
